Encanto Golf Course - Encanto 18

2745 N 15th Ave, Phoenix, AZ, 85007
An historic course and favorite muni in the Phoenix area, Encanto's 18-hole championship course is a classic William P. Bell design that has been serving golfers for nearly a century. Opened in 1935, the par 70 layout, which plays to 6,404 from the back tees, is at the core of the city's historic district, with great views of the downtown Phoenix skyline. Ideally suited for the average player, but certainly enjoyable for all levels, the course features wide, level fairways without too many obstacles to swallow up golf balls or drive up your scores. Water does come into play occasionally, most notably on the first and second holes. The par-5 first is a 505-yard dogleg left with a lake on the left side of the fairway, coming into play off the tee. The very same lake also comes into play on the short par-4 second, this time right of the fairway and green on the approach shot. The majority of the holes do not have water, but the last four are a pretty tough finishing stretch with three par 4s that play well over 400 yards. There are, however, three sets of tees to accommodate all levels of play. In addition to the 18-hole golf course, Encanto also has an executive nine-hole course, as well as a driving range, chipping green, and practice putting green. Lessons are also available. And inside the clubhouse you will find a well-stocked golf shop as well as the Encanto Tavern, which is open every day. The menu features pizza, hot dogs, appetizers, sandwiches, and all kinds of beverages and beer.
